The Basics

Joey is an actor, writer, & comedian who resides in Los Angeles. A native Southern Californian, Joey ventured out of the Golden State for his formative years to the Midwest. He graduated with a BFA in Acting and a Minor in Global Media Studies from the University of Michigan, solidifying his allegiance to the Wolverines. Go Blue!

In the midst of rehearsing classical monologues and learning countless tongue twisters for vocal warm ups, he became friends with a group of like-minded performers who were writing their own material to perform in the student-run theater program, Basement Arts. Their flagship show, A Very Potter Musicalbecame a smash hit online and the foundation for the internet sensation, Starkid. As a founding member of Starkid ProductionsJoey has performed in 9 full length productions, 2 North American concert tours, and multiple appearances around the world.

Some of Joey's on camera credits include projects for FOX, Nickelodeon, Neflix, Roku, and Disney. He's also lent his voice to cartoons on Nickelodeon & Cartoon Network, as well as several animated films, video games, and ad campaigns.

In addition to traditional pursuits, Joey is a member of the LA-based comedy trio, The Tin Can Brothers, who have written and produced over 200 YouTube videos, seven live stage shows, and raised over $335,000 for projects on Kickstarter. Their body of work showcases a unique combination of short films, mini-series, narrative podcasts, and live stage shows. Additional online collaborations include appearing in projects for New Form Digital, Geek and Sundry, Awesomeness TV, Shipwrecked Comedy, and Will Save Productions.  

 

Fun Facts:

-Joey swam competitively for 10 years! He raced for his Varsity High School team, state competitions, and even the Junior Olympics!

-Has additional comedy & acting training from Lesly Kahn & Company, Upright Citizens Brigade, and iO West. 

-His legs are a featured extra in George Clooney's The Ides of March, as Philip Seymour Hoffman had to walk over them in a hallway scene. 

 

-Only got into La Croix sparkling water over the last year and it has significantly changed his life.
